Nkunku’s participation against Daniel Farke’s team is uncertain due to an injury sustained during the Carabao Cup Final loss to Liverpool on Sunday. Since his £52 million transfer from RB Leipzig last summer, the Frenchman has grappled with recurring fitness issues.

During the weekend’s intense match against Jurgen Klopp’s team, which extended to extra time and lasted up to 134 minutes for some players, Nkunku played for about an hour. However, ahead of Wednesday’s FA Cup fixture, he was observed training separately from the main group at Chelsea’s Cobham training ground due to his latest injury concern.

Marc Cucurella and Thiago Silva are also undergoing a partial team training phase for reconditioning and are questionable for tomorrow’s game.

Blues manager Mauricio Pochettino acknowledged the fatigue among his players following the final but praised their resilience and focus for the upcoming match.

Regarding Nkunku’s injury, Pochettino stated that they received news about it recently but are unsure about its timing.

Benoit Badiashile, Carney Chukwuemeka, Wesley Fofana, Reece James, Romeo Lavia, and Lesley Ugochukwu remain sidelined due to injuries and will not feature in Wednesday’s match.
