Impressive turnout for round two of the Super League, including a notable crowd for the World Club Challenge.

Wigan Warriors showcased dominance both on and off the field during the weekend, securing a 16-12 victory against the three-time NRL Premiers, Penrith Panthers, in the World Club Challenge. A crowd of 24,091 enthusiasts filled the DW Stadium, witnessing Wigan’s resilient defensive performance that kept the Panthers at bay.

In Super League action, the matchup between Hull KR and Leeds Rhinos on Thursday, resulting in a 22-12 victory for Rovers, was a sell-out event. Hull KR, as in the previous year, released attendance figures in increments. However, considering their membership numbers and considerable support from Leeds fans, it’s reasonable to estimate that over 9,000 spectators were present.

The attendance figures for the remaining four competition matches have been disclosed. None surpassed the five-digit mark, with the largest crowd gathering at the Halliwell Jones Stadium as Warrington Wolves triumphed over Hull FC 36-10 in front of 9,431 spectators in a contentious game that witnessed Fa’amanu Brown being sent off.

Elsewhere, 6,812 fans attended the John Smith’s Stadium to witness St Helens defeating Huddersfield Giants 28-0. In London, 5,102 supporters gathered at Wimbledon’s Cherry Red Records Stadium as the London Broncos suffered a 34-0 defeat to Catalans in their home opener. At Salford, 4,770 spectators enjoyed an entertaining 26-22 victory over Castleford Tigers, culminating in a total attendance figure of 59,206, with 35,115 of them attending Super League matches.
