There’s even talk of a potential NFC South double-whammy for Atlanta if Mayfield becomes their quarterback.
According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, the Falcons could emerge as a “dark horse” in the pursuit of Mayfield, as they seek to upgrade at the quarterback position.
The Falcons are exploring all avenues to improve from their current quarterback, Desmond Ridder, who has not received a vote of confidence from new head coach Raheem Morris. Mayfield performed exceptionally well last season, leading the Buccaneers to the NFC divisional round of the playoffs with impressive stats.
