A Tottenham player strongly suggests a potential departure during the upcoming summer transfer window.

Tottenham loanee Joe Rodon is considering an extended stay with Championship side Leeds United for the upcoming season. Since his arrival on loan last summer, the Welsh center-back has thrived at Elland Road and is keen to continue his tenure with the club.

Recent signals hint at Rodon’s inclination to part ways with his parent club, Spurs, provided Leeds secures promotion to the Premier League. With Leeds currently sitting in 3rd place in the Championship table with 73 points, just trailing Ipswich Town by two points and Leicester City by five, the possibility of promotion looms large.

Should Leeds secure promotion, Rodon seems poised to prolong his time with them in the Premier League next season. He has relished the camaraderie with fellow Welsh players like Connor Roberts, Dan James, and Ethan Ampadu during his stint at Leeds.

Expressing his sentiments, Rodon remarked, “Just playing, of course, is what everyone wants, but I think all of us together, I think it would be a really nice kind of journey if we did get there [the Premier League]. With the journeys we’ve all been on, now it’s all led us to this moment. I just think it would be great for the collective as well, all of us to be playing together in the Premier League.”

Rodon has been a crucial figure in Leeds’ lineup this season, featuring in the starting XI for 31 out of his 32 appearances in the Championship. His defensive prowess is evident, ranking 7th with a 72% success rate in tackling dribblers and 10th with 149 clearances. Moreover, he showcases composure in possession with an impressive pass completion rate of 90.8%, the 8th highest in the league.
