Report indicates that it’s unlikely for the Ravens to extend the contract of wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr.

Baltimore is facing significant changes this offseason, particularly after Mike Macdonald’s departure to the Seahawks. Anthony Weaver secured the defensive coordinator position with the Dolphins, and the team has 29 players set to enter free agency, including key figures like Patrick Queen and Justin Madubuike.

Financially, the Ravens rank 19th in the league in salary cap space, with around $16.6 million available, necessitating critical decisions on key contributors and two All-Pro players. They have allocated approximately $120 million to their offensive lineup.

Amidst this pressing offseason, ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reports that wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. is unlikely to be part of their plans. Michael Thomas is set to become a free agent as his contract with the Saints expires, and some scouts see Baltimore as a potential fit. However, it’s unlikely that the Ravens will re-sign Beckham, as they prioritize veteran receivers and might not be willing to meet his salary demands. A potential reunion with former Saints coach Sean Payton in Denver is also speculated.

During his single season with the Ravens, Beckham appeared in 14 regular-season games, recording 35 receptions for 565 yards and three touchdowns. Despite his positive rapport with Baltimore’s skill players and his close relationship with WR Zay Flowers, it’s suggested that he may need to seek opportunities elsewhere unless he’s willing to accept a significant pay cut.

One potential destination could be the New York Jets, where Beckham could thrive alongside Garrett Wilson while benefiting from passes thrown by Aaron Rodgers.
