INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY: FOREST DEEPENS BONDS WITH WOMEN EMPLOYEES AND SUPPORTERS
Nottingham Forest is thrilled to introduce two innovative initiatives aimed at strengthening connections with female fans and employees.
The Garibaldi Girls, spearheaded by devoted Forest supporter Ellie Molloson, is a newly formed supporters group. It aims to foster a sense of community among female fans through meetups, social gatherings, and shared game experiences. The goal is to ensure that every female supporter feels welcomed, valued, and respected when attending matches at The City Ground. Forest is committed to collaborating closely with Garibaldi Girls to create an inclusive environment for women of all ages at matches, thus building a united network of supporters bound by their love for the club.
Furthermore, the club is eager to amplify the voices of women within its workforce and has established a Women’s Network to facilitate this. This internal network will provide a platform for staff to come together, exchange ideas, and advocate for change.
Clare Avery, Director of People and Culture, emphasized the pivotal role women play in the club’s success. She highlighted the importance of ensuring that women’s perspectives are heard and their priorities addressed, both within the workplace and beyond. The Women’s Network represents one of the club’s strategies to prioritize these conversations and create a workplace where all employees can thrive.
Nottingham Forest is also proud of the strides being made on the field. The women’s team, led by Carly Davies, has enjoyed a successful season, reaching the fifth round of the Adobe Women’s FA Cup. Currently sitting second in the league, behind Newcastle United, the team continues to excel as they prepare for their upcoming fixture against Wolverhampton Wanderers.
