NRL 2024 Transfer Updates: Fa’alogo Re-Signs; Bulldogs Secure Suluka-Fifita

Storm winger Sua Fa’alogo has inked a fresh contract that binds him to Melbourne for the next five years.

The 20-year-old has earned a spot in the top 30 roster for the 2024 season following an impressive debut in the NRL and on the international stage representing Samoa last season.

Expressing his delight, Fa’alogo stated, “I am a proud Melbourne boy and proud Samoan. My family is here, and I loved playing footy with Northern Thunder growing up. To have the chance to be part of the Storm is a dream come true.”

Meanwhile, the Bulldogs have fortified their front-row options with the acquisition of former Rabbitohs and Roosters player Daniel Suluka-Fifita.

The 24-year-old, released by South Sydney from the last two years of his contract, joins Belmore on a two-year deal. Currently recovering from an ACL injury, he is expected to return to action in May.

This signing follows the Bulldogs’ recruitment of 2018 premiership winner and ex-Kiwi international Zane Tetevano on a one-year contract. Tetevano, 33, has had stints with Leeds in the Super League and the Panthers in 2020, and has also represented New Zealand and the Cook Islands.

In Roosters news, vice-captain Luke Keary has extended his stay until the end of the 2025 season. The 32-year-old, a three-time premiership winner, expressed his happiness, stating, “I’m really happy to extend with the Roosters for another year. I’m still motivated to keep getting better as a player, and we’ve got a great crew here, so I’m excited about what we can achieve over the next few years.”

This announcement comes after Roosters prop Jared Waerea-Hargreaves revealed his move to Hull KR in 2025 following his retirement from the NRL after the 2024 season.

Furthermore, Broncos skipper Adam Reynolds has prolonged his contract until the end of the 2025 season, marking his 14th NRL season. Reynolds, who played 231 games in 11 seasons at the Rabbitohs before joining Brisbane in 2023, led them to the grand final last season. With a career tally of 2254 points, he ranks fourth all-time behind Cameron Smith, Hazem El Masri, and Jarrod Croker. Head coach Kevin Walters praised Reynolds, emphasizing his leadership and impact on the team.
