Judiciary Report: Tino in Line for Shoulder Charge Fine; Leniu’s Hearing Set for Monday

Titans captain Tino Fa’asuamaleaui has received a Grade 1 Shoulder Charge offense following his team’s defeat to the Dragons. However, he has the option to avoid suspension by pleading guilty early. This is Fa’asuamaleaui’s second offense of this nature, and he could face a $3000 fine with a guilty plea, or risk a two-game ban if he chooses to contest the charge and is found guilty.

Bulldogs forward Viliame Kikau has been charged with Dangerous Contact after an incident involving Parramatta’s Dylan Brown at CommBank Stadium. The Grade 1 offense carries a $1000 fine with an early guilty plea, which increases to $1500 if he decides to challenge the charge and loses.

Storm winger Will Warbrick and Sharks playmaker Braydon Trindall are both facing fines for Careless High Tackles from Friday night’s matches. Warbrick received a Grade 1 charge for his high tackle on Panthers winger Sunia Turuva, while Trindall was charged for an incident involving Dallin Watene-Zelezniak. Both players could accept a $1000 fine with an early guilty plea, or risk a higher fine if they contest the charges and are unsuccessful.

In other news, Raiders players Hudson Young and Emre Guler have been charged following Thursday night’s win over the Knights. Young faces a $750 fine for a Grade 1 Dangerous Contact charge, while Guler faces a $1000 fine for a hip drop tackle on Dylan Lucas.

Roosters forward Spencer Leniu has entered an early guilty plea to a contrary conduct charge after being accused of using a racial slur against Broncos five-eighth Ezra Mam. Leniu has apologized for his actions and will appear before the NRL Judiciary on Monday night. Roosters CEO Joe Kelly has extended apologies to Mam and his family, stating that Leniu has been cooperative throughout the process, and the club will continue to support him.
