James Franklin may have suggested that the Eagles engaged in tampering with Saquon Barkley.

The two-day legal negotiation period before the start of the new NFL year allows teams to discuss terms with the agents of unrestricted free agents, but it prohibits direct communication with players unless they represent themselves.

This is why Penn State head coach James Franklin potentially raised concerns regarding the Philadelphia Eagles when he suggested that general manager Howie Roseman communicated directly with running back Saquon Barkley during this negotiating window, as reported by Mark Wogenrich of SI.com.

“Penn State coach James Franklin had a conversation with Saquon Barkley on Monday night after Barkley agreed to join the Philadelphia Eagles,” Wogenrich stated. “…Interestingly, Barkley informed Franklin that Eagles general manager Howie Roseman included Penn State and the concept of a homecoming in his pitch to the former New York Giants running back.”
