Bohemians versus Derry City
Derry City will aim to preserve their undefeated start to the season as they visit Dalymount Park on Friday night to take on Bohemians. This encounter comes as Bohemian recently parted ways with their manager, Declan Devine.
Bohemians kicked off their campaign positively with a draw against Sligo and a victory over St Pats. However, they suffered consecutive defeats against Drogheda and Shelbourne thereafter.
Despite Bohemian’s recent struggles, Dalymount Park has been a relatively successful venue for them over the past few years. Derry City, on the other hand, has remained unbeaten in their last six visits to this ground.
Nonetheless, Derry City manager Ruaidhri Higgins emphasized the importance of maintaining focus for this upcoming fixture. He stressed the competitiveness of the league and the need for his team to perform at their best to secure three points.
Higgins praised striker Pat Hoban, who scored a hat-trick against Waterford last week, bringing his total goals to six in five games. He commended not only Hoban’s on-field prowess but also his positive influence within the club.
In terms of injuries, Derry City has faced some concerns in recent weeks. Cameron Dummigan will be unavailable for the upcoming match, but there is hope for his return after the international break. Meanwhile, Michael Duffy, Adam O’Reilly, and Will Patching have been nursing minor injuries, while Patrick McEleney has been training consistently and is likely to be available for selection. The rest of the squad remains unchanged for Friday’s game.
