The manager of Nottingham Forest, Nuno Espirito Santo, has clarified that a minor injury was the reason behind his decision to leave Taiwo Awoniyi off the matchday squad for the Premier League match against Luton Town.

It has emerged that the striker for the Super Eagles took a knock prior to the journey to Kenilworth Road.

Returning to the Nigerian team for the impending international matches against Ghana and Mali, Awoniyi’s participation in both matches is currently in jeopardy.
