Danny Wilson reveals Celtic wanted him before Rangers return as he admits ‘I don’t know what I would have done’
Danny Wilson has revealed CELTIC were interested in him before his second Rangers stint – and admits he doesn’t know what he would have done had talk firmed up.
The former Hearts defender – now plying his trade in the Scottish Championship with Queen’s Park after his stint in the MLS – could well have joined a rare group of players to play for both clubs on the Glasgow divide after admitting chats with agents when he was leaving Tynecastle. He ended up returning to Ibrox after previously leaving the club for English giants Liverpool.
He told the Scottish Sun: “There were conversations with agents. But the times they came at weren’t ideal. It wasn’t something I was interested in then. When I was leaving Hearts to go back to Rangers, I think there was Celtic interest. Would I have been prepared? You don’t know until you’re put in that position.”
