Kyogo Furuhashi’s return to form at Celtic in focus as pundit explains resurgence

Celtic have ascended to the top of the Scottish Premiership after comfortably defeating St Johnstone over the weekend. This places them in the leading position during the international break due to the postponement of the Dundee vs Rangers match last Sunday.

Kyogo Furuhashi, Nicolas Kuhn, and James Forrest all played pivotal roles in securing a smooth victory against Craig Levein’s team, with St Johnstone managing a late reply through Connor Smith. Despite this minor setback, Celtic showcased their championship potential during a crucial phase of the season.

Manager Brendan Rodgers has reasons to be pleased, particularly with the recent victories over Livingston and St Johnstone. Furuhashi’s resurgence, marked by two goals in as many games, is particularly encouraging as Celtic head into the final stretch of the season.

Furuhashi’s overall performance this season, with 15 goals and four assists in 40 matches, is commendable despite facing challenges at times. While there could be various factors contributing to his return to form, pundit Tam McManus suggests that the introduction of Adam Idah, who has joined on loan from Norwich City and has been included in the starting lineup, might have spurred Furuhashi’s improved performance.
