Joe Rodon remarked that he’s encountering an unprecedented experience at Leeds United compared to his previous clubs. Having joined Elland Road on a season-long loan from Tottenham Hotspur last summer, Rodon’s performances have notably improved with each game he’s played.
The 26-year-old has significantly bolstered Leeds’ defense, which has conceded the fewest goals in the entirety of the Championship, with only 28 goals against. There’s a growing consensus for his permanent signing in the upcoming summer transfer window, regardless of Leeds’ division, with the expectation that it will happen sooner rather than later.
Currently on international duty with Wales, Rodon’s contributions will be pivotal for their Euro qualification hopes. Reflecting on his season with Leeds in a press conference before the semi-final against Glen Kamara’s Finland, Rodon expressed high praise for his time at Leeds, particularly highlighting the unparalleled support from the fans.
He stated, “I feel assured, perhaps more than I have in a long while. I’ve cherished every moment of my loan spell. The Leeds supporters have been absolutely phenomenal to me. The atmosphere week after week has been extraordinary. Even in away games, I’ve never experienced anything quite like it.”
He further emphasized, “Time has flown by, but the consistent game time has only enhanced my confidence as a player. I believe I’m in a really positive state both physically and mentally.”
