Bam Adebayo added to Heat’s list of injuries, out vs. Cavs. Latest on Adebayo, Duncan Robinson

The day after Duncan Robinson, known for his accuracy in shooting, returned to Miami for a consultation with a back specialist, Bam Adebayo, the esteemed center of the Heat, was listed as questionable for the game against the Cavaliers due to an ongoing lower back injury. Eventually, he was ruled out for the game.

Adebayo had been enduring this back issue but was sidelined due to increased pain and swelling. Although he was present with the team in Cleveland, he did not participate in the pre-game shootaround. Coach Erik Spoelstra acknowledged that Adebayo’s condition had worsened upon their arrival in Cleveland and stated that they would manage his situation on a day-to-day basis.

Similarly, Robinson’s status was labeled as day-to-day pending his consultation with a back specialist after he exited a previous game due to back discomfort. Spoelstra expressed the necessity of Robinson’s evaluation to start the process of his recovery promptly.

Amidst a season marked by various injuries, Adebayo and Robinson have been among the Heat’s most resilient players. Adebayo has participated in 58 out of 68 games, maintaining impressive statistics, while Robinson has appeared in 63 games, showcasing notable shooting prowess from beyond the arc.

With Adebayo sidelined, Thomas Bryant is expected to receive more playing time as a center, while the absence of Robinson and other three-point shooters might grant additional opportunities to Cole Swider, a forward known for his three-point shooting abilities under a two-way contract. Swider has primarily played in the G League this season, where he has demonstrated impressive scoring and shooting statistics.

Spoelstra praised Swider’s shooting abilities and emphasized his impact on winning games, both in the G League and potentially with the Heat, highlighting the importance of finding the right opportunities for him within the team’s dynamics.
