After scoring a goal, Serbian striker Luka Jovic is going closer to signing a new deal with AC Milan. According to Pianeta Milan, Jovic now has a greater chance than not of being a Milan player in 2024–2025.

In the latter moments of the 2023 summer transfer window, he signed a free transfer, his goal being to score enough goals to persuade Milan to extend his contract beyond the one year he has with the team.

Jovic’s tenure at Milan has been uneventful, but he appears to be making enough progress to guarantee his future there. In 24 games, he has managed to score eight goals, which is not terrible at all for a backup striker.

One issue is that, despite his effectiveness coming off the bench, he has struggled mightily when it comes to game starts. This implies that when Olivier Giroud does not start a game, Milan are really at a disadvantage.

Milan has the option to extend his contract by one more year, which they may do for three straight seasons, thus they are expected to activate it in spite of this.
