2024 NRL Signings Tracker: Metcalf, Lussick extend with Warriors

Warriors playmaker Luke Metcalf has agreed to extend his contract for two more years, securing his stay at the club until the end of the 2026 season. The 25-year-old, who joined the Warriors from the Sharks in 2023, has played 21 games for the club and notably started as a five-eighth in their first two games of the current season.

Andrew McFadden, the Warriors’ general manager of recruitment, pathways, and development, praised Metcalf’s potential and commitment to the team’s vision, expressing satisfaction with his progression since they first identified him as a promising player.

In addition to Metcalf’s extension, 23-year-old hooker Freddy Lussick has also signed a two-year deal with the Warriors, extending his tenure until 2026.

Meanwhile, Manly forward Zac Fulton has been released from his contract’s final year to join the Bradford Bulls in the English second-tier league, following a request from Fulton and his management. Fulton, the grandson of Manly legend Bob Fulton, made a single NRL appearance for the Sea Eagles in 2022 and represented the Indigenous All Stars in Townsville recently.

Penrith Panthers’ star centre Izack Tago has inked a fresh three-year contract, committing to the club until the end of the 2028 season, just ahead of his 50th NRL appearance. Tago expressed his happiness in extending his stay at his home club, highlighting the special bond he shares with his fellow Panthers juniors.

Bulldogs forward Max King has also agreed to a contract extension, keeping him at the club until 2027, coinciding with the signings of Daniel Suluka-Fifita and Zane Tetevano. Suluka-Fifita joins the Bulldogs on a two-year deal after being released by South Sydney, while Tetevano, a former Kiwi international, returns to the NRL after a stint with Leeds in the Super League.

Additionally, the Dragons have released Paul Turner from his contract to pursue opportunities overseas, while Storm fullback Sua Fa’alogo has signed a five-year extension after an impressive debut season in the NRL and international arena. Fa’alogo, aged 20, has been included in Melbourne’s top 30 list for the 2024 season.
