Celtic eyeing second move for “incredible” player after failed January deal

With the Scottish Premiership title race finely balanced, Celtic are shifting their focus to bolstering their squad during the international break, making a second bid to acquire a long-desired target.

Initially, Celtic seemed poised for another comfortable Premiership triumph, but the appointment of Philippe Clement turned the tide in Rangers’ favor. Currently, Celtic holds a slim one-point lead, having played an extra game, while Rangers have the opportunity to seize control with their fate in their hands after a remarkable resurgence.

Looking ahead to the next season, Celtic are already swirling in transfer rumors, particularly regarding Joe Hart’s replacement, with RKC Waalwijk goalkeeper Etienne Vaessen reportedly in the frame. Strengthening the goalkeeper position appears to be a priority for the upcoming summer transfer window.

Meanwhile, speculation suggests Brendan Rodgers’ tenure at Celtic Park may be in jeopardy, with disappointing performances raising questions about his future.

Despite managerial uncertainties, Celtic are determined to secure long-standing transfer targets. Reports indicate their renewed interest in Hugo Bueno from Wolverhampton Wanderers, following an unsuccessful loan bid in January. With Wolves maintaining their squad depth during the winter window, Celtic sees a chance to make a move for Bueno, who reportedly welcomes the challenge of Scottish football. However, they face competition from clubs in Spain and France, necessitating prompt action to secure Bueno’s signature.
