Head coaches and general managers tour the nation to watch top prospects at workouts and pro days in the run-up to the NFL Draft. While visiting with a player and going to a workout does not ensure a team will choose them, it does provide insight into the player the team is considering.
In the weeks leading up to the 2024 NFL Draft, Baalke has been visiting several institutions to get a close-up look at some of the best prospects at different positions. But maybe more telling was the fact that he was missing from a recent pro day.
Baalke was scheduled to visit the Florida Gators’ Pro Day this past week, according to Mark Long of the Associated Press. The team even sent a camera crew for an internal production called “The Hunt,” which will chronicle the team’s draft process.
