Broncos Urged to Replace QB1 Jarrett Stidham with Ryan Tannehill

Ryan Tannehill, an almost 36-year-old quarterback with a decorated NFL career, aims to extend his time in the league, but time is running short. Despite his accolades, including an NFL Comeback Player of the Year award, his opportunities are diminishing. However, there’s a chance for another team to benefit from his experience for one more season.

Identifying the right landing spot is crucial for Tannehill, who has been displaced from his starting position with the Tennessee Titans. NFL analyst Nick Shook suggests that the Denver Broncos, in need of a quarterback, could be the perfect fit for Tannehill. With uncertainties surrounding the current Broncos quarterback Jarrett Stidham, Shook proposes that Tannehill could offer stability and experience to the team.

As the Broncos approach the 2024 NFL draft, their quarterback situation remains uncertain. While Stidham is currently slated as the starting QB, he fails to ignite excitement among fans. Despite interest in quarterbacks like Sam Darnold, who ultimately joined the Minnesota Vikings, the Broncos have yet to secure a notable upgrade.

Tannehill’s potential signing wouldn’t necessarily ignite immediate enthusiasm among fans, but it could provide a necessary buffer as the team navigates through a transitional phase. Veteran presence often plays a crucial role in team rebuilding efforts, providing stability and guidance amidst change.

Throughout his career, Tannehill has demonstrated resilience in bouncing back from setbacks, be it injuries, benchings, or team changes. While signing him may not be the flashy move fans desire, it could serve as a prudent decision to ensure the team’s stability at the quarterback position.

In essence, securing a veteran like Tannehill might not excite Broncos fans, but it’s akin to acquiring insurance—a precautionary measure that could prove invaluable in the long run. With uncertainties looming, the Broncos can’t afford to enter the 2024 season without a reliable option at quarterback, unless they are confident that Stidham can fulfill that role.
