Celtic and Rangers ‘propelled’ into UEFA top 20 rich list but Hoops join financial elite in area rivals can’t compete

Celtic and Rangers have been “propelled” into the top 20 in Europe for gate revenue according to a report from UEFA.

But the Premiership champions are out on their own for kit sales and commercial revenue as new figures stack up well for the Parkhead coffers in particular. European football’s governing body recently published the European Club Finance and Investment Landscape for 2023 as they compare how the top clubs under their umbrella are faring in a number of key financial areas.

Powerhouses like Manchester City and Real Madrid dominate the places you’d expect – like over revenue growth – while the TV revenue standings are a whitewash in favour of the English Premier League clubs owing to their lucrative deal with Sky Sports which no other country can compete with. Yet Glasgow’s big two are holding their own in other areas – namely how many fans they are getting in the door.
