Indiana basketball’s 2024 recruiting class has received a boost with the addition of another McDonald’s All American, Bryson Tucker, a five-star small forward from Bishop O’Connell High School in Arlington, Va. Tucker, who chose Indiana over Michigan State and Kansas, is regarded as the No. 13 overall player and the No. 4 small forward in the 2024 class by On3. Originally from Baltimore, Tucker cited Indiana’s style of play as a key factor in his decision.
Tucker’s commitment comes after the departure of fellow McDonald’s All American Liam McNeeley, who requested to be released from his letter of intent. Tucker’s father, Byron, highlighted his son’s basketball IQ and understanding of the game as his major strengths, likening him to players like Cade Cunningham, Jayson Tatum, and Grant Hill.
Described as a versatile player with a strong basketball IQ and a composed style of play, Tucker possesses the ability to make smart decisions on the court and is capable of confidently pulling up for shots. He brings a combination of size, athleticism, and skill to the Hoosiers’ roster, filling a crucial role in their Class of 2024.
