West Ham have now told Premier League star’s agents they want to sign him

West Ham United has initiated contact with the agents of a prominent Premier League player, signaling their interest in striking a deal this upcoming summer.

While uncertainties persist regarding manager David Moyes’ tenure, technical director Tim Steidten is reportedly actively strategizing for transfers in the background.

Steidten, believed to be focusing on bolstering the team’s defense and attacking options, recognizes these as crucial areas requiring attention before the 2024/2025 season.

Concerns have arisen over Nayef Aguerd’s inconsistency in West Ham’s defensive line, with speculation surrounding both the Moroccan and Kurt Zouma attracting attention from Saudi Arabia, according to reports by Graeme Bailey.

In the January transfer window, West Ham faced setbacks in securing deals for several forwards, exacerbating their squad’s limitations following the departures of Said Benrahma and Pablo Fornals.

While Mohammed Kudus, Jarrod Bowen, and Lucas Paqueta serve as pivotal playmakers, the potential departure of Paqueta to Manchester City looms. In the event of injuries to Kudus or Bowen, the team’s reliance on these creators could pose significant challenges for Moyes or any incoming manager next season.

Consequently, West Ham is reportedly exploring options for new wingers and strikers. One notable name that has recently emerged on their radar is Brentford’s Ivan Toney, whose departure from the club appears increasingly likely amidst heightened interest, compounded by his contract’s expiration next year.
