NFL Rumors: Foye Oluokun and Jacksonville Jaguars Reach Agreement on Fresh 4-Year, $45 Million Deal in Free Agency

Linebacker Foye Oluokun has reached an agreement on a new long-term deal with the Jacksonville Jaguars. According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, Oluokun is set to sign a four-year contract worth $45 million, with $22.5 million fully guaranteed at signing, binding him to the Jaguars until the conclusion of the 2027 season.

Oluokun was previously in the final season of his three-year, $45 million contract that he inked with the Jaguars back in March 2022. However, with no guaranteed money left and three void years from 2025 to 2027 in his prior deal, this new agreement offers stability for both player and team.

From the Jaguars’ perspective, this deal aims to alleviate Oluokun’s upcoming season’s cap hit, which currently stands at $21.8 million, making him the team’s fourth-highest charge behind Christian Kirk, Josh Allen, and Cam Robinson.

Oluokun’s exceptional tackling prowess has been evident since his time with the Atlanta Falcons, with impressive numbers of combined tackles over the past three seasons, including leading the league in 2021 and 2022. His 239 solo tackles in the last two seasons surpass any other player in the NFL during that period.

With formidable defensive assets like Josh Allen and Travon Walker, who collectively amassed 27.5 sacks last season, the Jaguars possess a solid foundation. Oluokun’s proficiency in covering the second level of the field further strengthens their defensive lineup.

With strategic drafting to address other positional needs, the Jaguars could position themselves as contenders for the top spot in the AFC South, potentially challenging the Houston Texans in the upcoming season.
