According to reports, Trabzonspor is becoming more interested in midfield player John Lundstram as his Rangers contract is about to expire.

The 30-year-old and the Scottish Premiership team have been in negotiations for a new contract, but if an agreement cannot be reached, the Scouser is free to depart Ibrox at the conclusion of the current campaign. The Super Lig team is reportedly dominating the fight for a deal, despite reports that English Premier League aspirants Ipswich Town are targeting the Scouser as they pursue promotion from the Championship.

It is said that Trabzonspor is trying to come to “an agreement in principle” with manager Abdullah Avci, who is approving the making of a contract offer. Following the team’s victory over Hearts in the Scottish Cup semi-final, manager Philippe Clement acknowledged that no more negotiations on a new contract had taken place with the midfielder. “There haven’t been any more talks,” he stated.

In another instance, former Rangers defender Filip Helander maintains that it’s “not a big deal” since he lost his captaincy at OB Odense. After leaving Rangers at the end of his contract in the summer, the former Ibrox defender was named captain of the Danish team.

However, he lost his armband and was taken out of the starting lineup after having trouble with form. He answered to Bold, “Well, that’s up to the club to decide.” It’s not a huge concern to me, but the results haven’t been great, so you might try to make changes. Trybull, Hansen, Bashkim (Kadrii), and I make up our captain group. I believe Bashkim makes an excellent captain since he has been a member of the club for a long time and understands its significance to the community. Thus, it doesn’t really bother me because I always try to be the same person.”

Zeb Jacobs, the academy director at Rangers, is reportedly expected to join Feyenoord. The Belgian was hired by the Ibrox club three years ago as Head of Academy Coaching, and he was promoted to his new position last summer.

However, Jacobs has been targeted by Feyenoord, the Dutch powerhouse, to take over as their new academy head, succeeding Rini Coolen, who is departing at the end of the season after leading Twente Enschede and Rosenborg. Furthermore, according to reports from the Netherlands, Jacobs’ contract has a clause that lets him quit with just one month’s notice if a team approaches him.

Misfit Rangers After spending two and a half months on loan at Ibrox, Jose Cifuentes has finally started a game for Cruzeiro. The Ecuadorian midfielder also acknowledged that he needs to get better.

“I personally need to improve on a lot of things,” he stated. I am aware of that. When I’ve played before, I need to make better choices on the field. We should have won the game, though, so I believe you could say that about a good portion of our team. Each of us must examine where we fell short and where we still have room for improvement.
