Birmingham City want Sunderland and Cardiff target as West Brom cast eye on Everton defender

The most recent transfer rumors from West Bromwich Albion and Birmingham City prior to the Championship season’s last day.

It has been reported that Birmingham City is interested in Sevilla forward Musa Drammeh.

After he kept up his impressive play for the La Liga team’s “B” team, the 22-year-old forward is reportedly drawing interest from other teams in addition to the Blues. In 31 games with Sevilla, Drammeh has tallied 10 goals and three assists. This season, Atletico has declared their promotion to the third division of Spanish football.

Numerous sources suggested that Sunderland made two unsuccessful attempts to sign the forward during the January transfer window. However, Football Insider has reported that the Black Cats are still very much in love with him as they organize their summer trading strategy. Cardiff City is also interested in Barcelona-born Drammeh since it appears likely that he will come to England in the not too distant future.

Drammeh appears set to move on once more as his current contract expires this summer. Should Birmingham, Sunderland, or Cardiff decide to make a serious move for his services, he will be available on a free transfer. Drammeh joined Sevilla in the summer of 2022 after spending time with Extremadura.

Premier League defender put on trial by Baggies

The goal for West Bromwich Albion is still to guarantee a spot in the Championship play-offs on the last day of the regular season.

Carlos Corberan’s team is currently in fourth and last play-off spot before of their home match against Preston North End on Saturday. They know a win will maintain their ambitions of making it back to the Premier League. The Baggies would take fifth position with three points and a Norwich City loss at relegation-threatened Birmingham; but, a loss might allow Hull City to slip into the top six if they manage to win at Plymouth Argyle.

Plans for recruitment are still in motion, though, as the Express and Star have revealed that Ed Jones, an Everton defender, played for the Baggies Under-21s on Monday night in their 4-2 victory over Leeds United. The 19-year-old center back, whose contract at Goodison Park expires in June, has been a regular for the Toffees in Premier League 2. However, he will probably be searching for a new club next season.
