With his amazing passing ability and calm demeanor, he keeps his side going and is extremely comfortable in possession.
Hackney has averaged 75.8 passes per game in 21 Championship games for Middlesbrough this season, with an extremely remarkable completion percentage of 87.9% (Who Scored).
The Redcar-born midfielder is adored by Carrick, who recently called him the “shining light” of the Middlesbrough football team (Teesside Live).
And it looks like the English sensation is getting closer to the Hammers now. Considering that he is still only 21 years old and hasn’t established himself at the Premier League level, the amount we’re supposedly willing to pay for him is truly outrageous.
The Middlesbrough midfielder is reportedly nearing a £18 million contract to join West Ham, according to radio station “The Red” on Teesside.
Even while it might turn out to be a great deal for the Hammers, I still think it’s a significant investment for someone who has so little experience at the highest level.
Though he has enormous potential, I would have believed that £10–12 million would be a more reasonable price to pay for a young, unproven midfield player.
Nevertheless, it’s not my money, is it? And I will be overjoyed if West Ham signs Hayden Hackney this summer.
