The manager of Rangers claims to believe in Celtics and promises to continue chasing the league crown.
Although the Parkhead team lost the Scottish Women’s Premier League 1 match, they are still in a good position to capture their first Scottish crown.
They have the same number of points as their opponents at the Ibrox, but they have a far better goal differential. If they win their remaining three games against Partick Thistle, Hearts, and Hibernian, they will be declared champions the next week.
Rangers, who twice struck the crossbar with long-range attempts, were upset not to win the Cornwall SWPL 1 Manager of the Year award last night.
She promised her ladies would battle to the very end and not give up on winning the Premier League trophy. Her girls play away against Glasgow City, the defending champions, and then Hibernian and Partick Thistle.
Additionally, she voiced the opinion that Rangers have made such strides in the last two years that Celtic no longer believes they are playing a better team when they play in Old Firm games.
She declared, “I think we did enough to win the game.” We felt let down since we rattled the crossbar a few occasions. We gave them very little opportunities. Vic (goalkeeper Esson), as far as I can recall, just made one save.
We were aware that we required three more points than they had. For them, the goal differential is practically worth an extra point. However, we still have three games remaining, so we can’t give up just yet. In any case, we would never do it.
They are now under a little amount of strain. The last week of the season is a three-game stretch, which can be difficult if your roster is thin. All we have to do is ensure that we get started and finish the task at hand.
We struck the woodwork a few times. We spent the whole week practicing taking pictures from the edge of the box, and we were given plenty of chances. We weren’t doing anything wrong, so at halftime, I couldn’t provide them any tactical advice. We had total command.
We were simply not taking any chances. Even though we had a lot of possession, I wanted us to start scoring sooner. It is regrettable because, in my opinion, we should have received the three points, but that is not how football works. We need to pick ourselves up and try again when we play Glasgow City on Sunday since we failed to put the ball in the back of the net.”
“We need to keep doing what we are doing,” Potter continued. We have an amazing squad and a terrific time. Now, in order to continue, we must find that little bit more. While we will treat the opponents with the utmost respect, we must press forward.
“We really want to end the season on a high note and secure those points. We also have a cup final at the end of the season, which is a big high.” It doesn’t matter who we perform for, as long as we play the part that needs to be played. We must possess that assurance.
“In the last few years, you’ve seen a shift in momentum in the Old Firm game, as they may no longer seem like the superior team. This season, we have demonstrated time and time again that we are capable of easily winning these games.
“We have never felt out of control, and even if we weren’t the superior team, we had a chance to score. We must make sure that the confidence we have shown in these previous three games is something we carry over into the upcoming campaign.
Despite the game being broadcast live on Sky Sports, there was a remarkable turnout, and Potter believed the Rangers fans that attended improved her team’s performance.
She remarked, “You see the difference the crowd can make.” The club did a fantastic job of advertising it and filling seats with bums. These fans are essential to us, and these games merit that.
