Sheffield United boss addresses Gus Hamer transfer speculation after former Coventry man linked with '£15m' exitFollowing relegation, Sheffield United anticipated interest in ex-Coventry player Gus Hamer as a move.

After being linked to a £15 million summer departure from Coventry City, manager Chris Wilder of Sheffield United has stated that the team intends to keep Gustavo Hamer at Bramall Lane for the upcoming campaign. After being demoted this season, the Blades are preparing for interest in some of their big players, and they anticipate that one or two significant transactions will make up the difference in revenue.

Rival teams are rumored to be interested in players like Vini Souza and Anel Ahmedhodzic, who are unlikely to view a season in the Championship as a step up in their career. Prior to being handed his Premier League opportunity by United on the eve of the current season, after Sander Berge was traded to Burnley, Hamer was among the finest performers in the Championship.

Despite the season being forgettable overall, he has contributed five goals and seven assists. If United can hold onto him and Oliver Arblaster, a young player, they will be one of the most potent central midfield duos in the Championship come playoff time.

Before tomorrow’s trip to Everton, Wilder discussed Hamer’s future, saying: “We recognize that and have to be clever and make sure we receive value for money on those players who are moving out. There are certain players who maybe won’t want to be a part of that journey as well. Gus is one of the players we want to hang onto. And Arblaster and Jayden [Bogle] are two of those.

I can’t sit here and declare with certainty that they’ll be here for the next five years because the Premier League’s financial situation has put us in a precarious position. Simply put, I don’t think that occurs, and neither do most Premier League clubs, let alone a team that has had a dismal season and will likely play in the Championship the next year.

However, there are some players that we want to surround themselves with because we believe they will help us advance. and who we don’t believe will advance us. It’s not a personal choice; rather, it’s the way things stand and the way we’re attempting to set up the club to recover quickly. As a result, there will undoubtedly be rumors, but Gus has been successful. He gives the team energy and skill at the top of the pitch, and I am aware of how highly the fans regard him. Like Jayden and Arblaster, he is well-liked by the crowd due to their positive, steady performances throughout the season.
