George Byers is thought to be on plenty of clubs’ radars, with the midfielder set to leave Hillsborough.
According to the Sheffield Star, midfielder George Byers of Sheffield Wednesday has drawn interest from Birmingham City and Huddersfield Town.
The midfield player played the second half of the 2023–24 season for Blackpool. Since their final-day loss to Reading condemned them to another season in League One, Byers has had more time to consider his choices away from on-field concerns.
There is one thing that appears definite, and that is his exit from Hillsborough.
Danny Rohl leased him out to the third division in January because he was judged surplus to needs, so it should come as no surprise that The Star has claimed that he will be departing the team when his contract expires this summer.
The Owls have the option to release him at the end of June due to his contract situation, since the player is unlikely to be needed after the team won their Championship survival on the last day of the season earlier this month.
