For the 2024–2025 season, Coventry City will be upgrading and changing their ticketing policy for disabled supporters.
The EFL and Level Playing Field, a campaign organization for sports fans with disabilities, were consulted before the Sky Blues made these adjustments, which put them in line with other teams.
With the new regulations, supporters will no longer be eligible for a complimentary personal assistant ticket from Coventry City unless they are on the Higher Level Rate DLA or the Enhanced rate of PIP.
A complimentary ticket to the game is given to a personal assistant, provided that they support and help the disabled supporter and their needs, allowing them to attend the game in comfort and safety. The Personal Assistant ticket cannot be utilized if the disabled supporter is not present at the game.
The complimentary ticket for a personal assistant will no longer be given to under-14-year-olds, bringing Coventry City back into compliance with other nightclubs and entertainment venues. According to Level Playing Field guidance, if service providers require all children to be accompanied by an adult, as the Sky Blues do for all Under 14s, then it is unlikely that they will need to grant the adult free attendance as part of their reasonable adjustments duty when the disabled person is a young child and their personal assistant/caregiver is their parent.
We recognize that not every situation or prerequisite for attending a game may be covered by the Higher Level DLA or Enhanced PIP standards, and the Ticket Office will take these kinds of situations into consideration on an individual basis.
The modifications are intended to maintain a robust and equitable system while guaranteeing that disabled fans in need of help can still obtain a Personal Assistant ticket.
Disabled supporters will not be able to renew their Personal Assistant tickets automatically as a result of the policy change, which is exclusive to this season.
Season Ticket details will be revealed shortly, however disabled supporters who do not need a personal assistant will be able to renew their own tickets automatically for the 2024–2025 campaign.
