Coventry City’s Callum O’Hare has both Leicester City and West Ham interested in him this summer, but the midfielder should be prioritising the Foxes.
With star player Callum O’Hare seemingly likely to leave the team, it appears as though Coventry City may suffer another setback in the summer window.
In addition to being involved in and around the Championship play-off battle and having a successful FA Cup run, the Sky Blues had another exciting campaign.
However, it appears unlikely that they will be able to keep O’Hare past this summer considering they will be in the second tier once more the following season.
The 26-year-old has been with Coventry since 2020, but he was on loan from Aston Villa to the Midlands team for the previous campaign.
Despite a string of injuries during his tenure at the club, he has shown himself and established himself as a vital member of the Sky Blues’ assault.
However, it appears that his time with the team is now over as his contract does expire at the end of June. Given that a couple organizations are interested, it just depends on where he goes next.
A few teams interested in Callum O’Hare are Leicester City and West Ham.
It appears that O’Hare has some big decisions to make this summer, as he has got more than one club chasing his signature.
The good news for O’Hare is that, given that he is coming to the end of his contract, it will come down to his decision and his decision alone as to where he goes next, and he should get a decent signing-on fee for making a move.
Both Leicester City and West Ham are good options for the player, as both are in the Premier League, but it might just be that the Foxes are a better destination for someone who has had another impressive campaign.

O’Hare played 31 times in the Championship this season, and while only 18 came as starts due to the fact he was still trying to get back to fitness after a long-term knee injury, he still did impressively well to contribute to Coventry’s season.
The 26-year-old scored six goals, which was higher than his expected goals (xG) stats of 4.09, and he finished the season with a goal conversion rate of 15%.
As well as the goals, O’Hare was key in creating opportunities for his teammates, as he created four big chances, averaged 1.2 key passes per match and notched three assists, as per Sofascore.com.
So, given how well he has done this season and in previous campaigns, it is no surprise that Premier League teams are taking notice.
Both Leicester and West Ham are great options, but it should be Leicester that becomes more of a priority for the midfielder this summer. This is because, out of the two clubs, it seems that his chances of playing often will come at the King Power Stadium rather than in East London.
The Foxes could be set to lose key players in the midfield department, as Wilfred Ndidi has been linked with a move to Galatasaray when his contract expires next month. Meanwhile, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall has also been linked with an exit, but he has come out and stated he has no intentions of leaving despite the club’s need to raise funds before June 30.
That stance could change depending on offers that may arrive, so there is a possibility that Leicester have gaps to fill in their team, and that would mean O’Hare would likely play regularly for Leicester should he join the club.
On the other hand, West Ham look set to be under a new manager next season, with Julen Lopetegui expected to take over from David Moyes.
It seems to be sporting director Tim Steidten driving the pursuit of O’Hare, and given that West Ham do have some decent options in O’Hare’s position, the likes of Jarred Bowen, Maxwel Cornet, Mohammed Kudus, and Lucas Paqueta, it wouldn’t make too much sense to pursue the Coventry man unless a big hitter is sold.
The Hammers could sign the 26-year-old, but he may not be preferred under Lopetegui, but at Leicester, at least Enzo Maresca would be in line with the board, and he would only be keen on signing the player if he knew he could fit into his team.
O’Hare needs to make the right move in terms of where he is going to play the most football, and while it will disappoint Coventry fans, that looks to be Leicester given their squad depth and the fact they are a newly promoted side.
