According to NFL Media’s Mike Garafolo, the Commanders are looking to hire Lions executive Brandon Sosna for a high-level front-office position. According to Garafolo, the organization interviewed only a few candidates for the post, including Eagles vice president of football administration Jake Rosenberg. Rosenberg let his contract expire to pursue other opportunities within and outside of the NFL. Sosna’s title at the Commanders is unknown.

Sosna, 31, has served as Detroit’s senior director of football administration for the previous two years. As the chief contract negotiator for the team, he is in charge of strategic planning and pay cap management. He was hired by the Lions after serving as USC’s head of staff for three years. Sosna first joined the NFL with the Browns in 2017-18, serving as a football administration intern before being promoted to salary cap and contract analyst in 2018. He also had two stints at the University of Cincinnati.
