Sheffield Wednesday players reacted when Reece James used social media to say his goodbyes to the club. Last season, Reece James joined Sheffield Wednesday on loan and made 34 appearances, scoring one in the thrilling play-off semi-final second leg win over Peterborough United.

The full-back was later given a permanent deal, but Darren Moore’s departure left him out in the cold. Xisco Munoz gave him only eight minutes of action, and while Danny Rohl offered him an early shot, he hasn’t appeared since February. It came as no surprise that James was announced as one of six players who would be released at the end of their contracts.

James took no time at all to find a new club though and was quickly snapped up by Rotherham United, who have just been relegated to League One.

Following his move, the 30-year-old took to social media to address the Wednesday supporters.
