CBS Sports national college football analyst Josh Pate made a bold statement regarding Tennessee Vols redshirt freshman quarterback Nico Iamaleava.
Tennessee fans will likely agree with Pate’s assessment.
This week, Pate expressed his belief that Iamaleava will become a star in college football and a well-known name.
“I think Nico Iamaleava is going to be a standout player in this sport,” Pate said. “And I don’t think it’ll take a few years for him to prove it. He will achieve that status this year. That guy will become a household name in college football quickly, because you don’t play in college for long, so you have to excel rapidly.”
“He’s got it,” Pate added.
Iamaleava, rated as the top player in the 2023 recruiting class, enters the 2024 season with high expectations.
