1 Realistic Free Agent Target for the Milwaukee Bucks to Pursue from Each Team
Bucks fans need to be realistic: OG Anunoby won’t be turning down his $18 million player option to join Milwaukee on a minimum deal. Instead, they should focus on more attainable targets from the New York Knicks, like Alec Burks.
Burks would add another 6-foot-6 wing to the Bucks’ roster, which is beneficial in itself. Additionally, he could serve as an offensive spark off the bench. With a career average of 10.8 points and a 38.3 percent three-point shooting rate, Burks is capable of scoring from all over the court, especially from beyond the arc.
The Bucks need another shot-creator off the bench to keep their offense flowing when the starters are resting, a problem they’ve faced in recent years. Burks and Bobby Portis could form a strong scoring duo in this role. While Burks might not be a defensive standout, he can still contribute on that end occasionally.
During the NBA Playoffs, Burks demonstrated his value by stepping up for an injured Knicks team, averaging 14.8 points and shooting 42.9 percent from three-point range. Adding another reserve who can put up those kinds of numbers, alongside Bobby Portis, could significantly impact the Bucks. If Burks is open to the idea, Milwaukee should definitely reach out.
