His reasoning was that he wanted the players to have an opportunity to come into the building, foster team chemistry, and understand the new system under head coach Brian Callahan.

Shortly afterward, the Titans signed Tyler Boyd to play in the slot and Nick Vannett to bolster depth at the tight end position.

Interestingly, despite frequently mentioning the need to strengthen the safety position and being linked to free agents like Justin Simmons and Marcus Maye (both of whom remain unsigned), the Titans did not add a safety.

Does this mean the Titans are finished with free agency? Have they decided they’re satisfied with their current roster? I don’t think so.

What will the Tennessee Titans do next?

I believe the Titans wanted to bring in some new players before OTAs began, but once OTAs started, they intended to give their current roster a chance to prove they could address the team’s existing issues.

For instance, instead of signing another cornerback for depth, they allowed their current players to compete, resulting in former Vol, Gabe Jeudy-Lally, standing out as a potential roster addition, which could save the team a few million dollars in cap space this season.

However, with the mandatory minicamp concluding today, there is a 72-hour window between now and the final week of OTAs, which runs from June 10-13.

If any player was going to separate themselves and show they deserve a more significant role than originally planned by Brian Callahan and Ran Carthon, they would have done so by now.

With the coaches now having a clearer understanding of the roster as they head into training camp, they have the opportunity to reach out to free agents and bring them in for a few OTA practices before the summer break.

If no moves are made in the next three days, the Titans might hold off on any further transactions for the next month and a half, waiting until training camp to evaluate the roster further. However, given their remaining cap space, this is an opportune moment to add veteran depth at safety, EDGE, offensive tackle, or defensive tackle.
