Knicks Under Pressure to Ink Milwaukee Bucks’ Guard

The New York Knicks might seek to enhance their 3-point shooting during the upcoming offseason. Bleacher Report proposes one method: acquiring Milwaukee Bucks guard Malik Beasley through free agency.

Bleacher Report notes the Knicks’ decent but not dominant 3-point performance this season—ranking 10th in makes and 14th in percentage. They suggest that Beasley’s proficiency from long range (averaging 3.0 three-pointers on 38.8 percent shooting over the past four seasons) could be appealing. However, his defensive impact may raise concerns, especially under coach Tom Thibodeau’s defensive-focused system.

Beasley, 27, had a solid season with the Bucks, averaging 11.3 points per game while shooting over 41 percent from beyond the arc in 79 appearances. Despite starting most of those games, he might explore starting opportunities in free agency, which the Knicks may not offer, given Donte DiVincenzo’s presence as the starting 2-guard.

If the Knicks can convince Beasley that he’s the missing piece for their advancement, he could significantly bolster their bench scoring, potentially making them a more formidable force in the Eastern Conference.
