Titans’ Salary Cap Situation Appears Excellent

Tennessee Titans general manager Ran Carthon was busy during the NFL offseason, making significant efforts to bring in talent to help the team compete for a playoff spot in 2024.

Although few are optimistic about the Titans’ chances, the team has assembled a competitive roster.

Key offseason acquisitions include Tony Pollard, L’Jarius Sneed, Calvin Ridley, and Tyler Boyd. Calling Tennessee a major winner of the offseason would be an understatement.

Despite making numerous impactful moves, the Titans remain in excellent shape regarding salary cap space. According to Over the Cap, Tennessee still has $24.4 million available, giving them the flexibility to make additional roster improvements.

One potential move is signing former Denver Broncos All-Pro safety Justin Simmons, who is still available in free agency and would significantly bolster Tennessee’s secondary.

If the Titans aim to contend this season, adding Simmons would be a major step forward.

Head coach Bill Callahan recently expressed his eagerness to continue enhancing the roster.

“There’s opportunities to add all the way through. There’s time now we can still add and player movement at the end of training camp…We’re actively looking.”

Given their available cap space and the number of quality players still on the market, the Titans could still make another strategic move or two.
