Jaden O’Neal, a highly sought-after 4-star quarterback recruit for the Sooners in 2026, establishes a date for announcing his decision.

In an unexpected turn, Oklahoma’s preferred quarterback recruit for the 2026 class has decided to announce his commitment earlier than anticipated. Jaden O’Neal, a highly-rated four-star QB for 2026, will reveal his choice on Monday, June 24, during the College Football Recruiting Show by 247Sports, available for streaming on YouTube.

Earlier in the week, O’Neal had unveiled a top 10 list of potential schools, but it now appears he has narrowed his decision down to five finalists: Miami, Florida State, Ohio State, Washington, and Oklahoma.

Marshall Levenson from Rivals initially projected a commitment timeframe of July or August. However, the sudden change in commitment date could prove advantageous for Oklahoma. According to all major recruiting services, O’Neal is heavily expected to choose the Sooners.

Oklahoma surged into the lead during the spring and has maintained a strong position since then. Following a productive summer of camps and visits, O’Neal appears to have gathered all necessary information and is prepared to announce his decision.

Should Oklahoma secure the commitment of this talented four-star quarterback, they would acquire an exceptional prospect with significant potential. There is speculation that O’Neal could potentially achieve a five-star rating by the time the 2026 recruiting cycle concludes.

He possesses outstanding passing ability across all areas of the field and possesses ample arm strength. O’Neal is known for his precision passing skills combined with above-average athleticism and NFL-caliber size.

Currently, Oklahoma has commitments from running back Jonathan Hatton and tight end Ryder Mix for the 2026 Recruiting Class. Adding O’Neal to their roster would significantly accelerate Oklahoma’s recruiting efforts for 2026.
