Panthers have inked a deal with overseas guard Amsal Delalić.

PITTSBURGH – Pitt has bolstered its 2024-25 roster by signing international guard Amsal Delalic. Hailing from Bosnia & Herzegovina, Delalic ranks among the top 30 prospects in Europe and has been playing professionally in Bosnia’s Division I and the ABA League Second Division.

“We are thrilled to welcome Amsal to our team,” stated head coach Jeff Capel. “He brings exceptional talent as a guard with a superb shooting touch and a keen basketball IQ. Amsal has excelled at a high level internationally and arrives prepared to compete. We sought to add another player with significant potential, especially in shooting to stretch defenses, and Amsal fills that role.”

Last season with Borac Netkar, Delalic averaged 13.9 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 1.9 assists per game. He shot over 40 percent from beyond the arc and 80 percent from the free-throw line in 23 Bosnia Division I games. Additionally, he contributed 13.7 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 2.2 assists in 12 ABA League Second Division matches. The 6-7 wing connected on 82-of-205 three-point attempts (.400) and tallied 483 points, with 25 games of double-digit scoring.

Delalic began his tenure with Borac Nektar in 2021-22 after playing for Igokea from 2020-22. He has also represented the Bosnia & Herzegovina national team, competing in the 2020 U16 European Championship and the 2023 European World Cup qualifier.

Delalic marks the fifth addition on scholarship for the Panthers this offseason, joining transfers Damian Dunn (Houston) and Cameron Corhen (Florida State), along with highly regarded recruits Brandin Cummings and Amdy Ndiaye.

Pitt also retains four of its top six scorers from last season, anchored by guards Ishmael Leggett and Jaland Lowe. Leggett, named ACC Sixth Man of the Year, averaged 12.3 points and led the team in rebounds (5.5 rpg) and steals (41). Lowe closed out the season strong, averaging 12.0 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 3.8 assists per game in ACC play.
