Georgia Tech recruit posts photos from his trip to BYU football program
During recent visits, BYU secured commitments from highly-rated receiver LaMason Waller and Tucker Kelleher, a native of Georgia.
Currently, BYU is aiming to recruit another prospect from Georgia who visited last weekend. This prospect is Sam Turner, a three-star wide receiver from Southwest DeKalb in Decatur, Georgia. Turner is currently committed to Georgia Tech, his hometown team.
Turner recently visited BYU, where the Cougars hope to persuade him to reconsider his commitment. He had previously committed to Georgia Tech earlier this month following an official visit to Atlanta.
During his official visit to BYU last Saturday, Turner enjoyed activities like water tubing, barbecues, and a photoshoot at LaVell Edwards Stadium. He shared photos from his visit on Instagram and other social media platforms.
On his social media accounts, Turner interacted with BYU fans, asking them how they were feeling about his potential recruitment to the Cougars. One of the photos he posted featured BYU cornerback Therrian “Tre” Alexander.
On Instagram, Tyler Payne, a BYU linebacker commit who also participated in an official visit this past weekend, commented on Turner’s post with “You know the move!”
Turner is ranked as the 464th prospect overall in the 2025 class according to the 247Sports Composite rankings, placing him 53rd among prospects in Georgia.
Since committing to Georgia Tech, Turner has visited two other schools. Last week, he visited Liberty Flames.
Standing at 6-foot-2 and weighing 195 pounds, Turner is a versatile athlete who has competed in basketball and baseball during his high school career.
Last season, Turner recorded 55 receptions for over 950 yards and scored eight touchdowns for Southwest DeKalb.
Among Turner’s other offers are from schools such as Georgia, Indiana, Maryland, and Mississippi State, all from the Power Five conferences.
BYU’s 2025 recruiting class currently includes nine commitments, and the team is ranked 63rd in the 247Sports team rankings.
