OU Softball: Alynah Torres Joins OKC Spark
OKLAHOMA CITY — Fans of Alynah Torres won’t have to go far to watch her continue her softball career.
The ex-Oklahoma Sooners utility player, who started 47 games this spring and won two national championships with OU, has signed with the Oklahoma City Spark for the 2024 season, the team announced on Twitter on Monday.
The Spark’s home opener against Great Britain at Devon Park — where Torres won 23 of 24 games during her college career — is set for Thursday at 7 p.m.
Torres hit .331 with a .993 fielding percentage as the Sooners secured their fourth consecutive national championship, recording 42 hits and 46 RBIs.
After transferring from Arizona State, where she played from 2020 to 2022, Torres started 43 games in 2023, fielded a perfect 1.000, and batted .350. The Glendale, Ariz., native had a standout prep career at Cactus High School, earning All-Arizona honors four times.
Former Sooner teammates Rylie Boone, Jayda Coleman, and Kinzie Hansen made their Spark debuts at the Coca-Cola Scenic City Pro Cup in Chattanooga, Tenn., last week.
