OKLAHOMA CITY — Fans of Alynah Torres won’t need to go far to follow her ongoing softball career.

The former Oklahoma Sooners utility player, who started 47 games this spring and won two national championships with OU, has inked a deal to join the Oklahoma City Spark for the 2024 season, the team announced on Monday via Twitter.

The Spark’s first home game against Great Britain at Devon Park — where Torres achieved a remarkable 23 wins out of 24 games during her college tenure — is set for Thursday at 7 p.m.

Torres hit .331 with a .993 fielding percentage during her time with the Sooners, contributing to their fourth consecutive national championship while tallying 42 hits and 46 RBIs.

In 2023, Torres started 43 games and maintained a flawless 1.000 fielding percentage, batting .350 after transferring from Arizona State, where she played from 2020 to 2022. Originally from Glendale, Arizona, Torres had an outstanding high school career at Cactus High School, earning four-time All-Arizona honors.

Former teammates Rylie Boone, Jayda Coleman, and Kinzie Hansen made their debut with the Spark at the Coca-Cola Scenic City Pro Cup in Chattanooga, Tennessee, last week.
