Newly appointed Razorbacks head coach John Calipari purchases a $2.2 million residence.

New Arkansas Razorbacks basketball coach John Calipari has settled into his new residence, as reported by the Fayetteville Flyer:

Calipari recently bought a house in the Clear Creek neighborhood for $2.2 million, according to property records. The gated community, situated near Blessings Golf Club about 5.5 miles north of the University of Arkansas campus, features a 7,350-square-foot home with five bedrooms. The property offers views of the 10th and 11th fairways of the golf club and underwent remodeling by the Goddard Design Group after its initial construction in 2006.

Calipari’s move to Fayetteville follows his signing of a lucrative five-year contract with the Razorbacks in April, which includes a base salary of $7.5 million per year plus bonuses. Prior to joining Arkansas, Calipari amassed over 400 wins, secured four Final Four appearances, and clinched a national title during his 15-year tenure as the head coach of the University of Kentucky Wildcats.

The Flyer also notes some local real estate intrigue:

Calipari becomes the second Arkansas coach among the major men’s teams to opt for a home in Clear Creek, diverging from the tradition of living in the upscale neighborhood of Bridgewater Estates, where current coaches Dave Van Horn and Sam Pittman, as well as past coaches like Chad Morris, Bret Bielema, and others, have resided. Former coach Eric Musselman broke this trend earlier by purchasing a home in Clear Creek before his recent move to USC.

Calipari acquired his new residence from the T&B White Family Trust, while his former home in Lexington, listed for sale at $3.99 million since May, remains on the market.
