The San Diego Padres have announced their 2024 broadcast team, featuring Don Orsillo, Mark Grant, and others.

Mark Sweeney will not return to the San Diego Padres broadcast team in 2024, as confirmed by the team after the 2023 season. The decision was attributed to a “changing climate.” Sweeney plans to seek broadcasting opportunities with another team and will continue his national studio work with Fox.

Mark Sweeney’s departure represents a notable change in the Padres’ broadcast lineup, potentially affecting the dynamics for the 2024 season.

The 2024 Padres broadcast team is expected to feature Don Orsillo, Mark Grant, Bob Scanlan, Mike Pomeranz, Jesse Agler, and Tony Gwynn Jr., with Sam Levitt handling pre and post-game shows for 97.3 The Fan. Sweeney had been part of the team since 2012 when games were broadcast on Fox Sports San Diego.

Mark Sweeney’s exit signifies a shift in the Padres’ broadcast team for the upcoming season, affecting both the team’s broadcasting setup and Sweeney’s future career in broadcasting.
