K-State Target Linkon Cure Seems to Be Taking a Summer Break After Missing the Rivals 5-Star Event
Linkon Cure is a highly anticipated 5-star football recruit, and any news about his college decision is eagerly awaited by fans.
Standing at 6-foot-6 and weighing 225 pounds, Cure is a tight end from Goodland, Kansas, who has made official visits to Kansas State, Texas A&M, Oregon, and Kansas.
In the past three weeks, many top recruits have announced their college commitments on social media.
College football fans in Kansas are particularly interested in Cure because both K-State and KU are vying for him due to the significant impact he could have on their programs. They are constantly checking his X page for any hints about his decision.
Today, Cure posted on his X page: “Apologies for the late notice. I did not attend the Rivals 5 event in Jacksonville the past two days due to other priorities. Looking forward to showing my ability in season.”
What does this mean? Has he chosen his school and is about to announce it? Or will he wait until after his final season at Goodland High School to commit? He is definitely on the radar for many schools.
On3.com ranks him 27th among five-star recruits. Here is On3’s analysis of Cure:
“Linkon Cure is a gifted athlete who stands out as one of the top tight end prospects early in the 2025 cycle. He is a state champion in the 300 meters as a sophomore, with strong marks in the high jump and 100-meter hurdles, showcasing his athleticism.
“He lives in a remote area of northwest Kansas and plays for a small school. His size and athleticism are impressive on film. He is a fluid, natural mover who reaches full speed quickly. He lines up both split out and in-line on offense, showing a large catch radius and making high-level grabs. He can make contested catches in traffic and has the ability to score after the catch. He looks dominant against his competition. Evaluating him in a neutral setting will provide more clarity due to the lower level of competition he faces.”
K-State has recent experience with a tight end of Cure’s caliber. In the 2024 NFL draft, Ben Sinnott was selected in the second round, 53rd overall, by the Washington Commanders.
