Georgia secures 5-star defensive end Isaiah Gibson following his decommitment from USC.
Five-star defensive end Isaiah Gibson committed to Georgia on Monday, just days after decommitting from USC. The Warner Robins, GA native, ranked No. 17 overall and the top edge rusher in 247Sports’ 2025 class, had initially committed to USC in March but withdrew his commitment last Tuesday.
Gibson, who had recently visited Ohio State, Tennessee, and Auburn, also received offers from Texas and Alabama. Despite his earlier commitment to USC, Georgia remained interested, with head coach Kirby Smart texting Gibson “one minute” after his USC pledge and other Bulldogs coaches reaching out as well.
“Everybody said they would stick with me until the end,” Gibson shared with Dawgs247. He is Georgia’s third five-star recruit for the class of 2025, joining linebacker Zayden Walker (No. 10 recruit) and tight end Elyiss Williams (No. 21). Last fall, Gibson recorded 17 sacks as a junior at Warner Robins High School.
