Four individuals hurt in South LA motel blaze according to the
A witness described the scene: “I looked and smoke was everywhere. There were police and helicopters. It’s crazy around here.”
The fire started around 8 p.m. on Thursday at a two-story garden-style motel located in the 10900 block of South Broadway. The flames spread to both floors. During the firefighting efforts, LAFD discovered four victims suffering from smoke inhalation and burns.
“LAFD firefighters assisted in the evacuation and medical care of four civilians,” stated LAFD spokesman Brian Humphrey.
The victims include a woman and a man in their 30s, along with two teenage girls. The woman and the girls suffered from smoke inhalation, while the man also sustained burn injuries. All were transported to the hospital in fair condition.
Firefighters managed to extinguish the blaze by 8:20 p.m. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
