Georgia is presenting a compelling argument for five-star linebacker Tyler Atkinson.
The Georgia Bulldogs have experienced considerable success under head coach Kirby Smart. They have won two national titles, reached the College Football Playoffs three times, and established themselves as one of the nation’s top recruiting powerhouses.
A significant part of their recruiting success comes from the abundance of talent in Georgia. The Peach State consistently produces elite prospects, such as consensus five-star Tyler Atkinson. Atkinson has the potential to be the highest-rated inside linebacker prospect in Georgia’s history, and as he enters his junior year, he is approaching his commitment timeline.
Atkinson mentioned to Dawgs Daily that he is done with visits for the summer and might take some during the season, but he aims to commit before his senior year. His recruitment began in March 2022 when he received his first Power 5 offer from Tennessee.
Regarding his relationship with Georgia, Atkinson highlighted his close bond with inside linebackers coach Glenn Schumann. Their conversations often go beyond football, focusing on life and family. “We talk about football, we talk about life, and we’ve been building this relationship since eighth grade, so we have a great one. He’s like a great coach to me, and we can just talk about life; it’s not all about football.”
Atkinson visited Ohio State twice this spring, and both Ohio State and Auburn have become significant players in his recruitment.
